    C25K... anyone?

So, I have always wanted to learn how to run but have never been able to figure out how to do it. I always figured that you just put one foot in front of the other and kept moving, but that just doesn't seem to work for me! At the suggestion of most of the runners I know, I have downloaded the app C25K. It promises to have you running 5km's in 8 weeks if you follow the training program which prompts you to warm up, jog, walk and cool down - all with your own music in between. Sounds pretty good... if I can stick to it! The program requires you to exercise three times per week which sounds doable.

My goals are to increase my fitness, lose weight and have some time to myself.

Has anyone used this app, or is anyone tempted to do the program with me? We could offer each other some support and encouragment??

I think there was another thread about this late last year. I started doing it but found it too hard to do on the treadmills at the gym, which is my only opportunity to exercise without my toddler, it worked ok on the cross trainer tho.

im starting to think of how to get more active. and running in a race (fun run probably city to surf but if im really into it maybe a half marathon) is on my bucket list.
my problem is i dont own a treadmill or anything. and even tho one of my goals too would be to have time to myself id say i will have to do it with dd...
i have known a couple of people who have successfully done it and are even seeing what the next step is cause they can do 5k easy now.

I have been doing the C210K and have been really enjoying it! Have never ran in my life and felt so unco so hired a treadmill to start with. Now I'm looking forward to going for a run outside when it goes back Feel so much fitter and have heaps if energy! Have lost quite a bit of weight too which I really needed to do.

I saw that you can do the 10k app, Hestia. Figured I didn't want to set my goals too high and make it more likely that I would fail!

I know what you mean, you can always continue on if you feel like it once you have conquered the 5K!

Just did day 1 of C25K! Only got halfway though, I do literally NO exercise, so I reckon it was a good effort. I was ready to drop at 10, but pushed it to 15, skipping the last run section and just continuing the walk. I paused it on the app so I can finish later today.

Yeah, I saw the C21OK app, definitely for after I've conquered 5!

Which app does everyone use? I looked it up in the android store and there are sooo many to choose from! Would love to give it a go.

I use the free one, the icon is black. Lotta help that was, lol! It talks to me and can run my playlist through the app, so it's good enough for me

    C25K... anyone?

I have been doing my own thing on the treadmill, started off barely bring able to do 10min at a brisk walk but about two months later I can do interval training for 20 minutes including 10 running. Looking forward to see what I can achieve when I have more time to go next year when I have a couple of days to myself and I want to tackle these hills I live on even if its just walking them.
