White fabric sewn into a tube, worn around the neck running down to the ground/ankles and a flame from felt stuck onto a head band?
every year our school has an end of year show which is really well done and the kids do a great job. However every year it comes with the usual themed costume requirements. This year I have to find a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory costume (easy done, I'll do Charlie Bucket) and a Beauty and the Beast costume for a 7 year old boy and this one has me stumped. He wants to go as the talking candlestick but I have no clue how I would do this. I have a week to come up with the costume and then I will be on placement for 5 weeks solid and am likely to forget all about it. I have zero crafting skills, can sew a little, and need to do this for as little $$ as possible.
Anyone got any ideas?

I would do yellow (closest to gold) clothes and make flames with some felt and stick it on the ends of the arms and like TMS said a headband with felt. Then he just has to walk around with his arms up![]()
hmm that actually sounds doable. Spotlight would sell felt I imagine?
Yeah, even Go-lo have it in their craft section normally. But spotlight would definately.
I wonder if they do yellow jeans in kid sizes? Will have to go and look tomorrow. Thanks for the ideas, they've been so helpful![]()
Coloured jeans are everywear at the moment so I think you should be able to find some somewhere. Glad I could help a little![]()
I'm pretty sure I've seen coloured kids' jeans in a bigw catalogue. But yeah, they're everywhere. I really like your idea Kazzzo!![]()
Will head to big w on Monday then and hopefully be organised before I start placement
Gold cardboard would work as a headband and flames, maybe yellows range and red cardboard for the flames too...felt can be hard to find sometimes.
Otherwise the little clock could be cute, just draw a clock on his face lol!
I was thinking of painting the flames rather than using felt, it shouldn't be too hard and there's always cardboard lying around that I can use. Getting a bit excited that this is not going to be totally lame now![]()
Lots of coloured pants at cotton on kids last time I walked past.
fab I'll take a look there, thanks![]()
And best & less too.
