My daughter is currently attending Long daycare 1 day a week at a council centre. Next year she will go 2 days. My son will be looked after by my parents but when they go away on holidays, he will go to the occasional childcare centre (also run by the same council as the long day care centre). My daughter may go to the occasional care centre on the odd occasion when I get extra casual work.
So,
Do I get the rebate for both centres? I currently get the rebate paid direct to the long day care centre, and I claim the benefit after tax time. The estimator on centrelink confused me because it looked like I would get less rebate for my son when I use both services.
You just need to make sure the total hours you use at both centres are within the approved number of hours that you're eligible for.
As much as its listed as an hours limit, units actually a dollar limit if the Ccb is paid at a higher hourly rate for occ care, you may get a different number of hours (hope that makes sense)
If I work wouldn't I be eligible for the max hours available? although I will be only be working 2 days permanent next year and possible casual days here and there. I would even be using the occasional care much, just the odd day here and there - There could be 2 days one week and then none for months
