Mini books
When our girls were growing up we gave them a stocking and then later in the day a present from us. We mainly did the stocking to hear the fun first thing in the morning as we opened our main presents after lunch.
In the stocking were some fun things but mainly things that they needed for the year like undies, sock, hair things, pencils etc.
There was also fruit, a lolly or two, books, a small game etc
The first year of school was easy as this is where I could fit in things for starting school.
I love stationery. But I'm fussy so I would want to see a gift card for smiggle lol!
Nail Polish
CD's/DVD's
Chocolate. Good stuff. Something extra dark or minty.
Unless you have a good eye, jewellery is just annoying. My mum is constantly giving me jewellery and I never wear it. It's just not my style. Such a waste of money and space.
for me chocolate, mascara, nail polish, nice undies, book, champagne picolo
the big girls have books, pj's (licensed ones) singlet and undies sets, wind up torches, bubble bath, hair clips and pillow pet slippers if I need to bulk them up mini bags of crackers and fruitboxes go down well
baby has a sock monkey (takes up most of the stocking lol) pj's, a blow up beach ball and a soft book
last year my 25 year old sister asked my mum for a stocking instead of a present
Try searching for stocking fillers on sites like etsy, madeit and hand-made. I've found some really cool things like old fashioned games (elastics, memory games etc) as well as interesting trinkets for adults.
