So, my DD is skeptical about the reality of Santa (thanks big kids at school!) and told me that DH and I write the letters. So this year a good friend has agreed to hand write the letter from Santa so it is not our writing. But I've spent the last 4 weeks trying to find some nice Christmas themed paper with no luck. Has anyone seen any? I'm in Melb. I don't need heaps, just a few sheets really so not looking to buy a ream of printing paper... Any ideas would be great.
have you checked officeworks at all? they have a lot of printing paper in packs of 25 or so.
i may have some scroll paper (so looks like a printed scroll) - i can post a couple of sheets to you if i can find them
not christmas as such, but still nice
i know i have both grey and aged brown parchment-ish payment that you could print a scroll or traditional christmas picture on as well - let me know if i can help (it might actually prompt me to do a reply from Santa for the poppet too!)
Thanks for the offer BG but I want a Christmas theme. I found some by using google but they're HUGE quantities! I was hoping Spotlight would have some but struck out there (although they had a pack for DD to write to Santa!). Even the paper shops don't seem to have anything this year (or maybe I'm just too early)
in previous years, i've found them in cheap shops (but was living in canberra at the time) - i'm going to check reject shop/sams etc tomorrow to have a look cos i've been thinking the same thing myself the last few days. pay day (shopping day) tomorrow - yay!
I hadn't thought of the Reject Shop! Will check it out when miss is at school on Friday - thanks BG!
ZF - I'm going to go looking for that now! although my Dad has been given the task of evidence this year. I recall when I was DD's age, Santa's sleigh left two skid/burn marks in the grass out the back from where he landed. Dad was so keen to show us The only thing convincing her at the moment is the fact that the Reindeer leave a mess when they stop here and Mummy hates mess... Dad pointed out that reindeer poo and sheep poo are very similar in appearance. I told him he was welcome to collect a sample...
My trainer told me how one year Santa entered the house by lifting the tiles but got a bit carried away in doing so and a few landed on the ground... and a few presents fell out of the sack and got stuck on the roof... But Santa gets a special key here so doesn't need to go through the tiles... We do have a no shoe inside policy so am wondering if Santa might forget to put his boots back on?
Riot Art and Craft often have really nice paper for weddings and invites etc. they would probably get Christmassy stuff in too i would think!? There is also Zetta Florence in Brunswick St or Little Paper Lane - I ADORE her stuff. Lots of stuff on their website.
Checked both those places Tanstar. I went to ZF first because it's. It far from work. Riot have only got scrap-booking stuff at the moment. Might check ZF again...
Could you get some nice quality paper and print something at Officeworks? If you google Christmas Paper lots of borders type papers come up and you could just print it off??
