    Selling second hand books

    Hi

Wasn't sure if this is the best spot for this post but it seemed to fit somewhat...I'm looking for advice on the best place to sell secondhand books.

I have a whole heap of books that I'd like to sell in the interests of decluttering & making a bit of extra cash to put aside before baby arrives. I just did up a budget and am a bit concerned. Some fiction and non fiction but I have a number of good quality and good condition textbooks as well.

Postage of books seems to be quite prohibitive so I don't know how well ebay does- I know you can sell books through fishpond etc but I just wanted to know if anyone had actually done that? I live in a different state to where I used to go to Uni and I don't know if these unis would use the same textbooks- so I don't think selling through a uni bookshop is an option. Has anyone used gumtree for book sales? I'm in Perth if anyone has any tips!

    Thanks in advance!

Try to find out if the local uni uses the same books. It depends on the course but with my degree, many of the books are used nationally. Also try the TAFE.

Uni Facebook groups? That way it's more local?
