    Question Bronchitis remedies

Dh has bronchitis. It comes every year, twice a year. (He does smoke, but has made several attempts to quit. I am hoping one day he eventually will) Apart from the usual bronchitis syrup his GP says theres not much else he can do.
So I was just wondering if anyone has any bronchitis remedies they know of? Any other treatments that maybe his GP hasn't mentioned. (GP is a bit old fashioned)

    TIA

Vapouriser, vicks and rest. Sleeping propped up in bed helps too.

If it's viral bronchitis he won't need antibiotics , if it's bacterial he will. Has he got temps?

And another thing that helps is ventolin. Through a spacer is better.

Thanks purplepixie. He gets a chesty cough, but it's mainly fatigue. He gets really fatigued to the point where he can sleep all day. And this is not possible when he has it for a few weeks at a time

How often is he getting sick?

Has he been checked for glandular fever?

Oh and if it's chesty with mucous try prospan drops from the chemist. They are natural and have helped DD immensely!

What are prospan drops? Are they are 'better' alternative to cough mixtures, etc? Sorry to hijack a lottle there.

I think so. It loosens the mucous up and allows your body to heal.

DD is only a year old, born prem, and was only allowed this when she had bronchiolitis. Shes had it 3 times to varying degrees. It definitely helped shorten her hospital stay! Her paed loves it. I've found it works fabulous with myself too. It has an aniseed taste too!

    Bronchitis remedies

Not sure if he would be open to it but I had it earlier this year when I got bronchitis. I was doing ivf so was having acupunture and she did some needles in a spot that cleared my chest. It was amazing!!

Thanks ladies, he seems to be doing ok today, he is trying to quit smoking (again) so it's helping. FX he can do it this time and maybe the bronchitis will subside....
