My 1st born is start next year, so happy/excited but sad at the same time.
We have her last day at kinder break up party tomorrow, i feel so sad about it.
None of her friends are going to the same school & i know she will make new friends but it's just one more thing that i worry about.
My little man. 1st born is off to school aswell next year I'm nervous for him as he has asperges and we also just moved inter state so will not have any familiar faces from pre school. Can not believe he's off to school.
My eldest little man is also starting next year, I can't believe how quickly the last 5 years have gone! I cried at his kindy graduation, lol, it seems like yesterday I dropped him off for the first time.
He's very excited, and whilst I'm a little sad, I'm also really excited for him!
My 2nd starts Kindergarten in NSW 2013. We are very excited about it. dD almost started this year but we held her back and now she is so ready. My eldest starts year 7 also so lots of changes.
my little babies are starting school in 2013. They look so cute in their uniforms (they wore them for orientation) and are so excited about starting. People keep commenting on how much free time I will have once they start though, and not even just from SAHM's, teachers at the school say the same thing which is weird because most people know they have been in daycare for 2 years whilst I've been at uni. Does anyone else with kids moving from daycare to school get the same comments and find it a bit strange?
ds1 starts prep next year. i am excited and can see that he is ready and needs more stimulation than he is getting at home with me/at kinder.
i also feel sad though that he has grown up so quick. where has the time gone?
he is going to a different school than all his kinder friends, although he met a couple of lovely kids at orientation and we have had some play dates that have gone really well. fingers crossed it's a smooth transition.
My last baby is starting prep. She is so ready but I am not.
Yep! My 2nd is off to school next year. Sooooo ready. Think we might have a few settling in issues initially.. she puts on her stubborn 'i'm not moving, talking or co-operating' mood a lot when she's a bit nervous. But I'm sure the teachers will snap her out of itShe'll have her big brother there though, so hopefully it's not a long settling period. Learning-wise though, she is very very ready.
My Ds2 starts kindergarten in 2013. He has his pre school graduation tomorrow and I am predicting loads of tears from me & DH!
DS is really looking forward to starting big school and loved his orientation days. I'm worried how he is going to go in regards to attending 5 days a week rather than just the 2 days he has been used to with pre school.
Mine is starting in WA too! I'm so excited.
He's been at school here in the UK from September, so I feel like he's already done the first day thing, started learning, made friends and all that, but I'm just so happy that our move home came when it did and that he can start again in an Australian school in Feb with all the other kids.
I guess I'm a little worried about him having to start again, but I know how well he handled it in sept and he can do it again
My DS starts next year. I'm excited about school startingHe has been doing pre-prep one day a week there this year so he knows the school and the other kids that will be in his class which definitely helps!
Got his book list. $102 later... Plus I need to get him more uniforms and his library bag; book bag.. The list goes on. All for prep!
DD starts next year too. Preschool concert tomorrow night, last day of day care on Thursday - her carers are quite sad about it, she's been going full time during term time since she was 13 months old and one of them had a little tear about it the other day.
She's super excited about going though, had a ball at her Orientation days and really bonded with her buddy.
SO excited about DD starting next year! We have sold our house and are moving to seachange town in about a month so lots happening but she has her uniform and looks SO cute in it and so grown up - I feel a bit sad but really excited about it because she is so ready, being a May baby has been good! Looking forward to just hanging out and chilling over the holidays with her before she starts!
I have very mixed feelings about it. I've been reflecting a lot lately. I'm sad that I haven't spent as much time as I 'should' playing with her instead of fretting about housework BUT compared to my second DD, she was a very demanding child. But I'm glad I spent so much time with her and we did heaps of stuff together like playgrounds, story time, kindergym etc..
Lately, I've been so proud that the things I've been trying to teach/role model to her about the importance of helping other people, not getting upset about silly stuff all seems to have been gelling in her little head.
She's super excited about the whole thing, knows 13 out of the 48 kids starting in prep and will be absolutely fine.
I'm another whose eldest DS is starting Prep next year.
We've got him kitted out already, and the school organises his books (including covering them) ... so we're actually all set for him to start.
He's an adaptable little fella, so I know he'll be fine ... I "think" I'm fine, but I'm sure I'll be more anxious/nervous about his first day than he will be![]()
