    Pulling ear

Dd is 6 months..nearly 7. She has had a little bit of a cold this last week, no fever just a runny, sometimes blocked nose. She's been teething the last month or so on and off.

She has started pulling her ear occasionally, and sometimes her hair.

Has she just discovered these aspects of her head or could it be an ear ache/infection? Could it be teething?
What do I need to watch for? I wasn't concerned until my Mum said to watch it in case it's an infection.

We're away with a heap of family so she is slightly more irritable, but I figure that's being bombarded with people and less day sleeps from the noise.

    Any help/guidance appreciated.

    Re: Pulling ear

My DD does this when she's tired.

    Also worse when teething.

Have you noticed any redness in the ears or discomfort? Any temps?

Sounds like a quick drs appointment is in order.

No, no redness, she doesn't show any discomfort and no temperatures.

I was wondering about the tiredness thing. Might have to look up a gp around here tomorrow...
Just don't want to be overreacting! Things to learn as a mum lol

If she hasn't got temps, redness or any discomfort I'd just watch her closely. Could well be that she's exhausted. Does she do it more when she's tired? Christmas is a busy time for us all. Even bubbas!

Hope its nothing sinister and just more tired signs

gah just had a huge post and lost it with a power out.

If it isn't uncompfortable just watch her. You know her best. You'll probably know if she's in pain.

My DD2 is a bit older that your DD but she's just started on her ears and hair too. Like a developmental thing.
My DS also pulled his ears as a comfort measure. All the time. Everyone told me it was teething or an earache....but it was just his 'thing' yanno.

Yeah it seems to be when she's tired, which is often because of all the people and less sleep
