    Moving from cot

Just planning on moving ds from cot when he is 20 ish months so dd can move in a but after being born (will be in bassinet for a while)
Did you put into a bed or another cot at this age? I'm a little concerned because he refuses to sleep long ways on bed and only sleeps across the bed and sits up , stands , rolls and crawls constantly in his sleep

    Moving from cot

I put Ds1 into a bed at 22 months and DD into a bed at 20 months as we needed the cot both times. I just made sure their beds have one side up against the wall and the other has a side rail. DD is terrible at tossing and turning and going upside down but they both have never fell out

We took the side off the cot at about 20Months. I put a couple of thick blankets on the floor in case he fell out, but he never did. He was 3 before he got a proper bed though. Just for financial reasons.

Did he ever climb out? Or did you have any troubles with him going to sleep? DD goes to sleep great in her cot, I can put her in and leave her, but I'm anxious that she'll climb out and not sleep with no side.

DS is breastfed to sleep, so already asleep when I leave him. Even at 3.5 though, he still wont stay in his bed by himself for 5 mins. Dreading when he weans...

We put DS into a toddler bed at about 16months old. We didn't want to but we found him trying to climb out of his cot so the decision was made for us.

We put one side of his bed against the wall and he has a side rail on the other. He sleeps all over the place and rarely is it in a traditional position. Sometimes, at nap time only for some reason, he sleeps on the floor instead of the bed.

He has never fallen out though and only very occasionally to we have him coming out of bed when we put him to bed of a night. Honestly I was quite surprised how quickly he adapted.

    Good luck with your move.

Hope - We took the side of DDs cot off about a month ago and replaced it with a bed rail that covers the majority of the side. When we first did this she spent the majority of that afternoon playing getting in and out. That night she got out a number of times so we put a chair in the way to cover the gap. We took it away once she was asleep, thinking she might get out in the morning. Since then she had NEVER gotten out without us there. She will just sit and wait for us. This really surprised me as I was expecting a few tough nights and for her to get up when she awoke.

My problem is that she still refuses to sleep without her grobag. Whenever I try just a sheet or blanket she cracks it and refuses to lie down....

    Moving from cot

DD started climbing out of the cot at around 15 months so she went straight into a single bed, though we got bunks and just swapped them so the top punk was on the floor, already had built in rails right around it. But if we hadn't of got the bunks I'd have either just put the single bed mattress on the floor or put the cot matress next to the bed incase she fell out. Good luck!
