Does anyone have any experience with super undies nighttime nappies? I bought some for my dc and they have been used 4 or 5 times and everytime they STINK, like really strong wee smell but also a kind of chemical odour. As soon as the children wakeup on the days they've worn them. They HAVE to take them off straight away, eww yuck.
FWIW I use mcn for my babies all the time and apart from having to do the occasional strip wash I've never had a major problem with smells so I know many tricks etc but seriously don't know how they can smell so strong from the very first wear. They work well as far as being convenient and absorbent but I don't want to buy more if they will always smell like this!
Crikey, that's no good, I'm glad I didn't take your recommendation when I asked for ideas on Night Toilet Training Pants the other day. I hope you can get the smell out and someone can help you.
My Grovia training pants that I use at night were similar when I started using them after quite a few washes it stopped but I think one of the problems were the layers weren't drying properly and they r made of hemp which has a more stinky smell. I washed mine and double rinsed and let them dry outside then popped them in the dryer with a cloth with a few drops of lavender oil to help the bad smell that worked for us but I have friends who love super undies and haven't complained about any smell so I hope it can be fixed for you
Cherished yeah after I posted I felt a little funny about it, but they are really good apart from the smellys that I'm hoping will pass! Super undies do have a few less 'fullon' types that might be more like what you're after? They have apparently just bought out revamped ones so the older style is possible to get at a much cheaper price if you look around. I also have one GF night nappy I got super cheap recently while buying a heap of cloth nappies etc and it is very absorbent but also quite bulky and takes ages to dry. Hope you're able to sort something out soon :-)
Oh and if your ds is only 2 the grovia will quite possibly work for him. I can use them on my 3 and nearly 5yo daughters (the older with extensions).
Thanks bluewrenee, funny I haven't had a problem with smells with grovia they just aren't big enough for nights. Definitely fully dried out and rinsed plenty too so yeah I'm just hoping its a 'keep washing they'll be ok soon' kinda thing.
