What constitutes an empty stomach for medication purposes?

Miss A is now on losec, and I've been told to give it to her on an empty stomach. Given that one of our problems is that she is an almost constant feeder, anything even approaching "empty" is pretty hard to achieve.

Does any know what sort of time since her last feed would constitute empty? Her afternoon/evening dose is fairly easy to regulate, but given I've also been told they should be given at the same sort of time each day, I'm finding the morning one a tad difficult.

    Thanks.

My meds that require empty stomach all say half hour before food. It seems like a short period of time though....can you call a pharmacy?

Now that's just a little too sensible isn't it N2L??? ;-) Never thought of that - just goes to show how fried my brain is. But yes, 30 minutes does sound like a really short time - would certainly make life easier if that was accurate though. thanks

30 mins before feeding is suggested for giving proton pump inhibitors such as losec. However I have given my kids losec bat all different times but It is supposed to be much more effective on an empty stomach.

Thanks lovelies. I'm managing about an hour after a feed and 30 minutes before anything at the moment and she's had a huge improvement already so hopefully that's enough time on an ongoing basis.
