    Sex and pregnancy

Ok so I know that sex when pregnant is fine, but we are still too scared to do it We haven't dtd since conception. So now that I'm feeling a little better I have been thinking about it. And I'm still too scared! Maybe because I m/c last year and this pregnancy I bled at 6 weeks, I just worry. It took 3 years to get this baby. DH has been really good, hasn't bothered me once.

So I guess I'm just after some reassurance or even stories of if anything HAS gone wrong as a direct result of dtd.......

I'm in the same boat as you.. too scared to try! I've read too many "dtd last night and now I'm bleeding today" posts and it's freaked me out.

Perhaps if you're thinking about giving it a go, just go easy and nothing too rough?

Sometimes that's hard because DH, well, he isn't exactly lacking in the size department (can't believe I just typed that!) Looks like were all too scared!

Tasha it was because of that at the beginning. Once bub was moving DH got a bit weird about it and I am still sick and throwing up so don't much feel like it
We keep talking about when we do it how cool that will be lol

LOL I know what you mean! My DH is the same also, and I'm only a small person which makes it doubly worse
What a funny conversation this is turning out to be!

I'd say if you are worried, check with your GP and if they give the all clear and you are in the mood... go for it! Your little bubba is very well protected in there.

I took 3 years to conceive my first as well with multiple miscarriages along the way, not one of those miscarriages was attributed to DTD - all chromosome problems (yes, I had testing and found out). Pregnancy hormones tend to send me into a sex crazed maniac and I did ask both my GP and midwife if it was possible to overdo it so to speak, they both said that unless I was spotting, it was fine. That being said, it is quite common for some women to spot a little after DTD as the cervix is quite sensitive with the extra blood flowing around your system, so don't panic if it happens...

I'm 18 weeks now and my poor DH is begging for a break!!!

I used to get absolutely hornalicious during pregnancy. So my poor XH.... aw well.... It didn't affect my pregnancies at all.

I was the same, in that after the journey to get here and then add bleeding to the mix! I was more keen to than DH for a while, but we agreed that we'll wait for two weeks no bleeding.
It is more uncomfortable in that it limits positions as such, and the weird tightens of the uterus after - lucky bubs hasn't kicked so far during, I think that will weird out DH!
I've always had a higher drive than DH, and sadly does t look like he's getting too much of a break either!!

Hmmm, I think we may just have to ponder on it a bit longer! I would just go into absolute panic mode if I were to start bleeding/spotting after.

    Thanks for your replies ladies

If you're concerned, perhaps talk to your midwife or doctor. Generally speaking, it's only in certain situations that sex is not advisable. Otherwise it can actually be a really good idea
You might actually find it's easier to do it now, rather than after you have a baby. But ultimately, just do whatever you're comfortable with. Neither of you will be seriously harmed if you don't have sex.

DH and I have done it maybe 6 times while I've been pregnant. My cervix was closed on Thursday, we dtd last night and today I'm 1.5cm with a very soft cervix so keep it in mind when you get close to full term

I thought I'd quickly add to this too. I was absolutely terrified to DTD until I was over the 3 month mark. We've done it heaps since and I've no problems. I was scared because I'd had a m/c the night after we DTD last time so I had it in my head it was that but after speaking with heaps of medical professionals about it and getting advice from close friends we decided to relax a bit and I tell you DTD is even better during pg. The only difference is the positions you try. DH is not keen on him being on top even though bubs is well cocooned so we just do it other ways.

Everyone is completely different though so only do what you feel comfortable with
