    Weaning from swaddle

My other two girls fought the swaddled from a bout eight weeks, so I stopped wrapping them DD3 is now. Just over ten months and has to be wrapped still. If she's not wrapped she gets so distracted by her arms she just doesn't sleep.
This week it's been so so hot that she's been waking up a sweaty hot mess and I'm not very comfortable wrapping her still while the weather is like this.
So, how do I wean her (and me) off of them??

    Weaning from swaddle

I used Sleepy Wings with DD2. They aren't ideal for summer though but used with a light weight sleeping bag (0.5 tog) could be ok. DD2 loved them but I did struggle to then wean her off her wings! We got there eventually though.

We swaddled DS in some form or another until he was just about 11 months! He was first fully swaddled and then I did one arm out once he could flip over and he stayed like that for ages. Then I did two arms out at maybe 8 months? And only recently have we started just putting him down in his cot unswaddled (sp?) and he now uses his swaddled just as a blankie.

I started to wean Spock off swaddling at about 4 months. only because it was getting too hot and I knew at this time of year there was no way I could swaddle her in this heat. So I got one of those swaddle me up suits which she used until about 6months. then the heat set in (and she is too big for it now), but Now I have her in just sleepywings. started off with pants and a singlet and sleepy wings, but the last few nights has just been a nappy and sleepy wings. during the day she just has a singlet and sleepy wings (if she isn't in the carrier), soon I hope she doesnt need the wings.

she wasnt ready when I weaned her. but I knew I had to because of the heat, so started earlier so she could get use to it.

you could try just wrapping one arm in her swaddle and every few days alternating it, in the hope she gets used to a arm being free and then just stop wrapping her arms?

I agree with the others, we tried one arm out, then the other. Even when both arms were out we still wrapped her lower half for a bit longer before stopping altogether. Oh, and this wrapping near the end was around a grobag....which she still sleeps in......she refused to sleep without it (that'll be my question soon, I want her to use sheets cause we're getting her a big girl bed soon lol)
