Wasn't sure about what the title should be... But what I'm wondering is when u start enforcing the whole eat what u are offered for dinner or don't eat thing?
My DS is just one so I'm not really sure I mean for right this second but at the moment we are havig a independent battle on our hands lol - DS is still BF 2 times a day and I am doin alot of BLS and he has a lot of finger food but occasionally will give him casseroles or say yogurt that require a spoon. Normally he is happy for me to feed him or load spoon and he feed but the last week or so he has absolutely refused to eat Anything that he doesn't feed himself. And Spoons Re VERY messy still! i'm just having trouble offering him a variety of things?
So I guess it had me wondering when u would start the whole that's what ur given and that is dinner? Or will u always try and find something ur child wants to eat for dinner? Just so they will Definatley eat something?
At age one they are pretty little and still exploring food, different tastes and textures.
I've found the best way to go is to serve them up what you want them to eat, it can take 10 or more times before they will actually try/eat something new so persistence really is the key.
These days if DS chooses not to eat dinner without even trying it he just simply goes hungry until the next meal- breakfast!! He is 3.5 though. Generally he will just eat it and then discover its actually nice as knows he is not getting anything else
