    M/C chances after 12 weeks

Does anyone know the chances of having a m/c or mm/c after 12 weeks? I am asking because this past week i can't shake the feeling that something is wrong. We saw baby and heartbeat at 12+3 and all was well. But in the past week I have lost breast tenderness, nausea, fast heart rate and I'm not feeling hungry much any more. I feel 'normal' so to say. And I haven't felt normal since 6 weeks along. I am also not showing at all in the slightest way.

I can't go to the GP because there is nowhere for me to get a scan done for free and I can't afford $120 right now. My OB is going on holiday and my appointment isn't until Jan 31st, nearly 3 weeks away which will be with a midwife. So probably no scan. I dont have a doppler either, nor do i know anyone with one. Can't afford to buy one either I don't know if I am being paranoid or if something really is wrong. I was confident until these last few days.

sounds like normal second trimester improvement of all those nasty first trimester side effects of pregnancy. I would call your ob's office and discuss your worries, hopefully if they know your history of a loss and LTTTC they may be able to squeeze you in for a quick check to reassure you. Your ob should have a back up partner you could seexxx

I've had 2 scans there already. Once for early bleeding at 6 weeks and then a dating scan at 8 weeks. Plus the wait would be at least 2 hours and I don't think they have a sonographer(sp?) after hours. Just feel so uneasy

In the 2nd Tri symptoms do tend to settle for most women, and like Novella suggested, seek further appt(s) to acknowledge these worries that you are holding onto. After TTC &/or m/c it's hard to have faith that Mother Nature will allow things to be perfect for us, but you have to have hope, or you've really got little else. I remember feeling the same anxiety about the 2nd trimester, and then my baby kicked me from the inside, and I nearly drowned in the wave of relief.
Enjoy your growing baby, who can hear your heartbeating inside of you. Celebrate everyday, and seek the positivity.

It would be unlikely you would be given an ultrasound in an emergency department, particularly after hours unless you had bleeding or abdominal tenderness. Unfortunately it would not be considered an emergency and you would wait a long time only to be referred for a private scan at a later date.

I hope you find the confidence to enjoy your pregnancy soon, part if being a mummy is always having the worry of the well being of your child, unborn or in your arms. If you are feeling particularly anxious please call your ob's office tomorrow and let them know how much it's impacting on you. Xx

Sorry Novella, I didn't see your first post! I will call my OB tomorrow then, but I don't want to seem like a crazy person. Plus it's hard to swap appointments around work because I don't have people to cover my shifts.

I know symptoms start to fade once you enter the second trimester, but it still makes me worry. And I hate not showing yet, it's like it's not real and there's nothing in there.

Thank you ladies for your reassurance xx

Your OB will be able to check HB for you. If you ring them concerned, they will find a spot for you. Most OB's are very accommodating if you are worried. I know when I had a huge panic attack, my OB saw me within the hour when I called.

Thanks Lilima, I hope they can fit me in around work because I can't really move shifts around once they are concrete. It just stuffs everything up. I guess i will just wait and see...

    M/C chances after 12 weeks

I had the exact same feeling around the exact same time, although a horrible dream set me off. I rang to get an earlier appt with the OB and when the receptionist asked more as to why, I broke down in tears and they told me not to see the OB but to come straight up to the hospital and one of the midwives will see me. The midwife was lovely and told me it was normal to feel like that and then got the Doppler out, massive relief! Is there a GP that bulk bills as they should have a Doppler as well and I'm sure they'd want to put your mind at ease.

If this is your first please try not to stress about not showing yet, I didn't show at all until 19 weeks with my first and I was fit and everything so it's not like she was hiding under fat or anything, it's just pretty normal not to show early with your first! If there's a midwifery centre nearby you might be able to ask them just to put the Doppler on for peace of mind, they won't charge you. Hope you get some peace if mind soon

Hi there. I know the anxiety of feeling normal at your stage and the need for reassurance. I see you are in MLB - if you can be bothered coming for a drive over the other side of the city you can borrow my Doppler until your appointment at the end of the month PM if you wanna talk further.

Hi Tasha. I'm sure all is well, the 'symptoms' do tend to disappear in the 2nd trimester. Where are you located? I have a dopler you could borrow to use before your 31st Jan appointment for a piece of mind. PM me for details hun xx
