    Smoking and Driving

Is smoking and driving practically the same as using a phone and driving?

No. Smoking is habitual act, much like driving your car becomes once you learn the skill.
Talking on the phone requires a different part of the brain, distracting you from concentrating on what you are doing whilst driving.

    Smoking and Driving

Might not be the same but I still think its dangerous and should be illegal. And I'm a dirty rotten smoker

If there are children in the car, it is illegal to smoke in your car. Nothing on the Vic Roads website about smoking and driving otherwise.

smokin with a child in the car is all kinds of wrong and now illegal.

but with another adult in the car its, in my mind far, far far better to smoke then use the phone while driving.
