Help! Just realised Im a business partner and I havent told Centrelink!
So MIL started a business last year and DF and I are named as partners. We havent actually done anything with it yet aside from MIL buying some stock for the online store when we eventually set it up.
It occured to me tonight that I havent told Centrelink. OOPS! Am I in serious trouble or will it be ok because we havent made any money yet?
I wouldn't think it would matter if you haven't made any income yet - as isn't income the only thing that affects your payments (and assets but a non profit business can't be an asset surely).
For ftb only, no drama - it all goes through the tax office. If you receive any sort of income support (parenting payment etc) get on the phone tomorrow...
Just so I dont misunderstand you BG,
I dont need to tell family assistance as they already know?
I recieve parenting payment. What info do they need, so I can get it together before I call.
I have to ask MIL for it all. The main reason we havent done anything with it yet is we moved house and have been in the midst of renovating. I have no idea where anything is!
FTB is based on estimates and reconciled at tax time so you guesstimate. If your estimate is enough to cover it, great
Pp is based on your situation each day so you need to notify within 14 days of any change to circumstances. Call today and get the form. That will then tell you what extra info you need to supply
