I just got a Kenwood, have never had a stand mixer but the power was a huge factor in the Kenwood vs KA for me.
I'm researching stand mixers and noticed that the KA is 300kw while the kenwood chef is 1000kw (the sunbeam/breville also have more wattage than KA).
Do any KA owners wish that it had more power? I make quite a bit of dough (pizza, focaccia mostly) so I'm wondering if I'm better off with one of the more powerful mixers? But the KA's are so pretty and a red one would look awesome in my kitchen!
So do I go power or looks lol! Please help me decide!!!!!

I have a KA and make lots of doughs and never had a problem... Plus it is candy apple red, must make it go faster![]()
I make dough 2-3 times a week in my KA. Not small quantities either and it's been fantastic.
Rouge will know more. It is not just amount of power but how that power is physically used to drive the machine. Not a mechanic so I just don't have the language to explain it.
Found this: Wattage is not important to measure the performance of a stand mixer. It is important if your basis to choose a stand mixer is its power consumption. Input wattage is simply the power that flows from the electrical outlet into the mixer's motor. Output wattage is the amount of power the motor actually produces--which flows out of the motor, moves through the mixer arm, and, ultimately, smacks the ingredients around. Most mixers list input wattage, which is simply the power that flows from the electrical outlet into the mixer's motor.

Thanks Astrid that's really helpful.
I'll see if I can find output wattage but by the sounds of it the KA will do the job no probs.
LOL frog of course candy apple red goes faster.
It's kind of a 'which football team is best' question, but Rouge is the master.
I have Candy Apple Red. She is beautiful and no I have never wished she had more power. I use it for doughs all the time and I rarely need to raise it very high. My mum even commented on how much more powerful it seemed than her KW.
I have candy apple too!!
I <3 her so much
True, but you can change sidesI grew up a Kenwood girl, Mum had one and of course I was going to as well. That was until I went to buy one and thought how plasticy if felt compared to the originals models, from what I can gather they have lifted the game since then.
I think all anyone can do is compare models available at the time. You can't compare the good old Kingswood to the current Commodore, even though they are both Holdens, which is what people tend to do when talking about Kenwoods.
It actually says in the KA manual not to put the motor on higher than two when using he dough hook as you will damage the motor. DH made some dough a few time a since buying ours in January and its been fine!and I whipped some cream in he higher setting and it worked nice and quick with no dramas. I live he way it looks in the bench... Yes... Redto Math the red soda stream
