    Growing pains?

    Can someone help me please?
Dd1 of late is consistently saying her legs hurt. She keeps telling me they are broken. At night she gets really distressed because they hurt.
We keep trying to tell her she's growing and so she needs to sleep so her body can grow but obviously that's hard for a 4yr old to understand.

I'm guessing that most kids go through this so hoping so wine can share their experiences.
What an I do to help her? Is it panadol? Heat packs? She gets really distressed at night and thinking its because she's relaxed and not on the go as she is during the day (though she does complain during te day too, just not as much).

    Anyone please??

My little sister used to cry in her sleep from growing pains
    I second the magnesium.
I get restless legs and when they are bad, they can be really uncomfortable and even painfull.
I hope your poor poppet gets some relief soon. It's not nice

Eta, I know you said growing pains, but I wonder if they are restless legs?. Mine could be mistaken for growing pains if I didn't know what they were KWIM?

    Growing pains?

I never actually thought of that. I always have restless legs have done for as long as I can remember. Her other thing that she often says are 'the germs are tickling me' I wonder if its a nerve pain because to a little kids I could imagine that's how it might feel???

    Growing pains?

DS1 suffers from growing pains in his legs probably once a month, I too suffered when I was a child.

A heated wheat bag does absolute wonders for him, I highly recommend it!

my kids all have growing pains- they are horrible - my DH and I both had them as well
    they are heridetary as well
my poor DD has severs disease as well- look it up it as bad a broken bones and affects the heels and feet etc
my DD gets them really bad in her feet and the pain radiates up her legs and knees as well
Ice, nurofen/ votaren gel works. Treat them like you treat a sprain. My DD wears foot braces when she gets them for support and extra supportive shoes.
    Massage works well .

    Growing pains?

Epsom salt baths could really help.

if that pain goes on for weeks, then I would go to a medical person - even an osteo or chiro might be able to help you.
I took my DD to an osteopath and she sent her for xrays which revealed severs.
My kids would only get growing pains for days at a time and then i would settle down. This was the case from birth and they still get them now at 10 years old!!!
Its pretty painful growing pains and the treatment is to only ease the symptoms.
    hugs
