Anyone??
Hello
I was hoping our lovely FAO fairy might be able to answer this question. There are a number of additional payments/support that are available to families who receive FTB Part A. Is this the complete list, or are there others?
* School kids bonus (twice a year)
* Part A supplement (at end of fin year)
* Medicare - eligibility for FTB Part A brings the extended safety net threshold down by $600odd.
Are there any others that I've missed? I am trying to work out the flow on effects of being nudged out of FTB eligibility.

Anyone??
We now qualify for A and B because I'm on maternity leave, so I was doing the paperwork a couple of weeks ago. I believe there's a payment associated with large families. We get a tiny bit because of our third child.
Sorry, can't think of any others though.
ETA: Sorry md, I can't recall if you have more than two kids!
^ Large family supplement. I think I get $22 a f/n? It was only about $11 when I first noticed it & I can't even remember if that was before or after DD3.
Yep, just the 2 Ande.
Other benefits while receiving Family Tax Benefit
If you qualify for Family Tax Benefit Part A and Part B, you may be entitled to other payments and benefits.
If you share care of a child for at least 14 per cent of the time (two or more nights per fortnight), you may be able to receive Rent Assistance, a Health Care Card, Remote Area Allowance, Child Care Benefit, and access to the lower threshold of the Medicare Safety Net.

Remind me later and ill come back to this one
Thanks for bringing to my attention about the link to Medicare - we are eligible for FTA and FTB now as I am still looking for work after DS - my estimate for myself for this year is low because I have no idea if I will get a job or not - but if I do get one within the next month or so then can redo estimate and would think will knock us out of FTA eligibility and I may have various to pay back including CCB (I am fine with that, we needed the money to live while I am not working but once have a job is fine) - I hadn't realized about the safety net though.
the quotes here are right - FTBA is tied in to eligibility for FTBA supplement, Large Family Allowance, School Kids Bonus, and the medicare safety net. the rate of rent assistance CAN be tied to FTBA, but this can also be tied to eligibility for income support payments, so it's not exclusively linked to FTBA eligibility
Eligibility for Child Care Benefit/Rebate are not related to FTBA eligibility. the definition of an eligible child for CCB/CCR is that they must be an "FTB child" - but it doesn't mean you have to be able to receive FTBA for them - it basically means that they must be a child in your care and meet residency the same as an FTB child...
Health Care Card and Rent Assistance MAY be related to FTBA eligibility. they may also be linked to income support payments (both) or low income (HCC)
a quick look at the medicare website confirms that the extended safety net (for those who receive FTBA or have a low income card) are eligible for the calendar year if they qualify. so if you qualify in this financial year (12/13) even if you don't qualify by your est in the next (13/14) the extended safety net will still apply until the end of the calendar year
more info can be found here
Thanks very much. That makes sense
you're welcome
