I do like the modular mates - about the only tupperware I don't regret buying lol. I like the decor and systema containers. Much cheaper and seem to work just as well IMO. They are often 50% off too if you keep an eye on the woolies/coles/target catalogues. I mainly use them for kids lunches.

I like the red decor range. Woolies have them fifty percent off at the moment.

the sistema ones you can get in woolworths aren't bad. they stack nicely, they have a snap lock lid, and they're much cheaper

downside to them is that they have a rubber seal, and over a period of time, if you wash them regularly, they stretch and make the container useless (as far as being air tight goes) - we have a pantry full of tupperware, and mostly use the sistema stuff for freezing (cos it's easy to stack) - we just never reheat in the containers in the microwave to try and prolong the life of the rubber seal.

Decor is also pretty good, but because everyone got on the decor bandwagon a while ago, i don't believe they are as inexpensive as they used to be

i have seen similar containers that are cheaper again, but the seals have been a major let down (they've been relegated to garage use!)

I like the Sistema containers for pantry type storage. Kmart have a good range. Like BG, I don't ever put the lids in the microwave.

I have just redone my pantry with sistema, the ones with the blue clips. They stack and you can get them in various sizes, I bought some labels and can see exactly what we have now, loving it!

Thanks everyone, it seems the sistema ones are the way to go!
