I'm struggling to get two doses of losec into Miss A at roughly the same time each day while fulfilling the requirement to do it on an empty stomach. It always seems to be that I'm giving her the evening dose imediately before she has dinner.
Is the empty stomach thing really that big a deal? She's certainly got less pain and discomfort now that she's on it, but she sure isn't sleeping any better
I think they say before a feed so it's less likely to be thrown back up but I'm really not sure. We're only giving it once daily, we do it sometime in the morning, really not too strict as long as it's around the same time every day. I've noticed DD2 experiences a lot less pain but doesn't vomit any less. She still has maybe one episode of reflux a day that will upset and hurt her. She also has a lot of painful gas but that's due to my oversupply. She's started sleeping better, but I'm not sure if that's the Losec or her growing iykwim.

My son is 3 now but has been taking Losec since around 11months. I've never been told to take it at a particular time. Dr only said to take it at the same time each day (we chose night as he slept horribly and we hoped to fix it) as its easier to remember. Works a treat for him and sleeps great now too. DS5 takes Zantac twice a day and we were told to just space the doses out so he has one dose morn and one night before a feed as he is usually asleep afterwards. I'd just do what works for you with a bit of trial and error.
I always did it before first feed of the day, she only had it once a day.....so her tummy was relatively empty. From memory I did try hold her off as long as possible to let it absorb, but I'm sure as you know that's easier said than done! I just prayed that whole feed she wouldn't spew!!
