Centrelink parenting payment/hours of work question

I'm looking at trying to get a job... pretty much out of necessity. We currently receive our parenting payment fortnightly which is what covers our bills. How many hours a week am i allowed to work before this is compromised? If i take on work and they start taking away my centrelink payment we will be no better off

    What are my options??

Go online to the estimators there and put in different amounts you might earn and look at the impact it will have

Pp is not based on hours it's based on income. You'd need to put in yours and your partners income to see what will happen with different levels of earnings

Dollars wise (as in money in your hand) you are almost always better off working than relying on income support. However, you need to do your own maths regarding child care, travel etc and decide if it will actually be worth it.

Thanks briggy's girl, i'll have a look and see what i can come up with. We've just become self employed late last year and things are so all over the place still so what our actual earnings are and will be is so hard to tell.

What kind of hourly rate i would receive i have no idea of at the moment. We are going to try and work together so child care isn't needed.

Thanks for you help i really appreicate it
