    Plagiocephaly, your experiences please.

    Hi there,
I'm just wanting to hear of ppl's experiences with this. My little boy has got a fair bit of flattening on the back right of his head and across the top left of his face. We saw the paediatrician 3 weeks ago and he suggested sleeping him on his left side, I haven't noticed a difference yet. We saw the pead again today and he wants to see DS again in 2 months and told me to keep up with the positioning him on his left side. He assured me that sleeping on his left wont increase the flattening to the left side of his face as it is caused by the flattening at the back. Is this the case? How did you go with positioning? Did it fix it? What did you do if the positioning didn't help?
    Thanks

I would be taking him to a chiropractor for advice as they can help with repositioning the bones as you use positioning techniques. Ask for one who specialises in infant cranial work. My youngest has needed a lot of help with his cranial positioning and whilst his head is a lovely round shape now, we continue to have him adjusted to make sure it stays that way.

Are you in Melb Traveller? Can you recommend a chiro?

DD1 had same problem, she had restricted neck movement which caused the plagiocephaly. We went to Vida Chiropractic in Sandringham and she had an instant improvement in movement and a complete resolution over time. HTH.

    Thanks Mak,
He has done Osteo and his movement is great now. It's more just getting the flattening sorted now. Ill give them a call, thanks.

Better Backs in Mitcham does infant chiro. I took my DS there and was very happy.

Just messaged him to make sure he's had experience and good results with infants with plagiocephaly

Now you can do a ring around and get prices and appointment options

    Good luck!

^ exactly this. DS3 had some flattening on the back left but with the help of a great chiro who is experienced with babies, it has virtually been corrected.
