Aggghhhh booking a holiday shouldn't be this hard!
Okay so January last year booked our family holiday (with another family) to Fiji. Unfortunately then my Dad got very ill (and subsequently passed away) so we had to defer the holiday as with my travel back and forth to Ireland with his illness we couldn't "risk" being on holidays if something happened.
Move forward one year and all good. Rebooked holiday - extended the time we were going to be away for - booked Island as well and mainland and all looked good count down the days (well okay months ).
Then today I get a phone call from the travel agent. The island resort we 've booked had been damaged by the cyclone in December. It was scheduled to re-open 1 April. We go 1 May and now its not going re-open until 1 August - aggggh. Nobodys fault and really sad I'm sure for the owners (its family owned I believe) who now won't have income coming in. but agghhhh all the same.
As we're not the only people effected by it and I'm sure our resort may not be the only one not re-opening accommodation on the island in kid friendly resorts is like hens teeth. We were supposed to be staying in Malolo my travel agent is looking at alternatives for us. Any suggestions on what would be good. We are staying in Raddisson first of all for 5 nights and then had 5 nights on an Malolo. Prob would prefer to go to an island rather than heading down to Coral Coast. Castaway wasn't already booked for the time that we are going.
