I would just to be sure.
Especially with her feelings dizzy.
Hi Ladies,
So I just had to pick up Miss H (5) from school at 10.30 as she and a lil boy knocked heads.
She has a rather impressive egg on her forehead, on the right side near her hairline.
She has just started saying she feels dizzy at the back of her head, and feels tired but not really tired (clear as mud right?)
She has been eating and did some colouring in and stickers since we have been home, and is currently sitting next to me with a cold pack on her lump!
So, my question is....Should I take her to the Dr?
TIA
I would just to be sure.
Especially with her feelings dizzy.
If she is complaining of being dizzy and fatigued, then I would take her in.
The egg is a good sign, and it may just be a concussion, but worth a visit to an ER
Was she knocked unconscious when they bumped heads? If yes, then I would take her to your local A&E.
If no, I would watch her at home for the next few hours. If she becomes unusually drowsy or vomits, again I would head to A&E for monitoring. If she is happy playing, I would stay at home and have a quiet afternoon. There is not much a GP can do for a concussion and in hospital, without any further symptoms, you will sit in the waiting room for a while. They will not CT her based on a head strike with no further symptoms and no LOC. Can you get her to clarify the 'dizzy' feeling a bit better? (Tricky with a little one!)
You know her best, does she seem ok to you?
Thanks ladies!
Took her to the Dr, who said what you girls said...
Watch her for another 24 hrs, if she starts vomiting, or not acting herslef to get to hospital.
Miss H is of course, milking it for all its worth!
Thanks again xx
Oh no! Hope she is ok now xx
That was an early school pick up! Did you freak when the school called you lol.
How is Miss H, Snoogans?
Yeah I did a lil Sangie!!
She is doing great Nickle! Has a nice bruise on her lil head and is still milking it for all its worth hehe
Thank you for asking! Xx
We have had a few head bumps. Awful worrying things.
Glad she's doing ok![]()
This was our first major head bump! I was rather impressed with the size of the egg on her head! She did this on Friday...on Tuesday she fell and scraped her knee, elbow and palms and wrist rather impressively as well! and was all excited because she got to go to *Sick Bay*
I have a feeling she will know sick bay rather well before the end of the year!
Ohhh no she didn't get any of the notices!!! Will hopefully get them tomorrow!!
Crazy hair day??? Eek
