Received a txt re blood tests

DS17 had some blood tests done on Wednesday and this morning I receive a txt saying the doctor would like to see him to discuss the results. That's not good is it? Waiting for him to wake up, just praying that it is something minor.

    Regards,
    Dianne

It doesn't mean anything. The doctor wouldn't have even have sent the message, the receptionist would when they received the results. Even if there is nothing to note in the results, they need to be given in person, so don't stress about it, just wait and see what they say.

I wouldn't read too much into it. It could be absolutely anything. It could even just be a crappy way of saying "your blood tests are back and we won't give them to you over the phone so make an appt, although there is nothing abnormal about them". I have even had GPs who won't even tell me if the results were back over the phone, and I had to make an appt just for them to say the results still weren't in (seriously!!!)

it could be that he cant say anything to you about the blood tests so has to request to see DS17 to talk to him privately.

I hope nothing is wrong and its just a case of they need to give the results to him instead of you.

My doc asked to see me after blood tests once. I went in all worried and he said my potassium was slightly low but not enough to worry about doing anything for!
If there is anything they need to discuss they often ask you to come in, even when it's just a low level or something

He is 17. He is "Gillick competent". So they would be breaking the law to give them to you.

I wouldn't stress in the slightest.

We've been in and his Thyroid is borderline, he will need to have bloods again in 6wks and if there is no change he will be on hormones for the rest of his life. This is why he's been so tired and lethargic and the doctor was really great in explaining it all to DS.
