Please help me find a microwave!

    Hello ladies

Well my microwave is on its last legs, and I need to find one ASAP. What microwave do you have? Do you love it or hate it?

    Thanks in anticipation!

Bought a Breville from Target. Was on sale at the time, but only about $200 full price and it is great, I love it.
Not sure if it has a 'name', but it is 1100 watts and black and stainless steel.

Thanks LS - I actually saw the Brevilles in Target yesterday and was surprised as I didnt even realise Target sold them.

Anyone else? Surely more than one person has a microwave!!

If I was upgrading mine; I'd be getting a convection one (the sort that acts like an oven). Can't remember off the top of my head what we've got but I know ds1 hasn't helped the hinges on it when he shuts it

I'd second the combination microwave oven. My last one was a Panasonic and it was great - had it for ten odd years before we redid our kitchen and I got a built in microwave that is also a combination. I cook a lot, so its really convenient having the extra oven available. I rarely use my microwave as a microwave now - its more a second oven. DH is really the main only user of the microwave function

Anyway, Panasonic do good combinations and so do Sanyo (Mum had one for years). They're more exxy than the just stand alone microwaves but worth it if you cook a bit.

Sanyo convection microwave is good - I think the only reason mum ended up replacing hers was because their house had an arsonist.

Jinxed my microwave by replying; guess what we're doing tomorrow? Ours no longer heats up; discovered this as we went to reheat leftovers for tea

I have a Whirlpool convection microwave. It has a crisp plate so it is great for doing things like roast potatoes quickly and they still get that roasty outside bit. Also great for reheating things that you would normally go soggy in the microwave.

I am on to my third one - we gave one away when we moved, the second lasted 7 years.

I think it was $230ish. They retail for over $800 here in NZ, so I got my father to bring one over as luggage when he did a NZ trip
