A week or so ago I ran out of nappies for DD who is 4 1/2 so we figured give knickers another try even though I tried at the start of summer and she still wasn't ready.
She stayed dry and so we continued and she had one big wet night and then dry again. The last two mornings though DH has got her up ready for preschool and she has wet the bed.
I'm not angry but confused now. Any tips what else I can do to help her along. I am not going back to nappies as I know she can do it but just curious why the two nights in a row especially considering she was up twice last night and went to toilet about 1am with a decent wee.
There will always be accidents here and there. I found my DD went through stages where she would be dry for weeks at a time then wet for a week for no apparent reason.
I agree with Tinks, my DD goes months on end and then will wet 2 or 3 times a week. Some nights they need to wee much more and some nights they sleep more deeply than other nights and dont wake up and know they need to go. Just keep perservering and make sure you have a good mattress protector, she will get there
My DD has done similarly in the last week... I think for her she is exhausted. This is her second week of full kinder hours and she's just knackered. One time she didn't even wake up when she wet the bed, we found her wet and had to change the bed with her half asleep and grumpy.
Maybe as she adjusts to being back into school term activities, like preschool etc, she will find her groove again. I'm hoping for the same with my DD.
We have found the coolness of the night also has an effect on our boys. DS2 TT'd day & night at the beginning of summer he's had few night accidents mainly when it's been a cooler evening. I am prepared for the regression during winter. My DS1 did the same we had to put him back in pull ups until he had mastered dry nights during the cold nights. Only took a couple of weeks. DS2 also prefers to wear undies to bed, but DS1 doesn't. He feels more secure with undies on & doesn't have the accidents he did have without undies when we were TT'ing.
I agree that it tends to happen a few days in a row. We can almost guarantee that DS will wet through if he gets cold at night as once the doona is totally off he won't pull it up again. That is all getting better as he gets older but it sounds totally normal. Invest in some brolly sheets if you haven't already
