    Drooling toddler

    Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone's LO started drooling again at 16mo or so, ie after they've stopped the baby drooling for ages. I suspect it's teething but I don't see any teeth coming out nor feel any.

DD's also have been having mild temp for a few days. Checks by GP have revealed nothing sinister. But I just feel like something's isn't quite right.

Thought I'd check to see if toddler drooling is common or not. She stopped drooling at abt 6-7mo.

    Any advice/experiences appreciated.

    Thanks!

mY almost 3 year old still drools sometimes, and then it stops again for weeks or months. i haven't really thought much about it.

i keep thinkng DS is going to pop another tooth, he gets drooly and icky poos but no tooth and then it settles again. i think the teeth must just move around for abit deciding whether they are going to come through

Hello, it could be her molars starting to move causing the drooling. My DS drooled on and off for ages, past two and even three sometimes. He occasionally does it now at 5 and I think it is a nervous tendency for him as he does it when starting preschool or school for the first time.

My little guy never stopped. I used to just change his shirt several times a day. Now at four he still does it occasionally. Not on purpose, just lots of saliva.

Thank you for your response. It's reassuring in confirming what I think is happening. Will let everyone if anything else happens.

Turns out, with another day and a few extra symptoms (blister looking stuff on finger and now sole of foot & a bit on the bum), she's got hand foot & mouth. The drooling is prob due to sores in the mouth. I think there's a bit of teething there as well.

Sorry to hear that. I hope she gets better quickly. Your instincts were right.
