    Fleas!

We went to my sisters for dinner yesterday, and DD was playing with their puppy, and now she is covered in flea bites! As an added bonus we seem to have bought them home with us, and now have fleas in the house!
Would you mention to my sister that she might need to flea treat her pets?

Its your sister, so I am sure would be appropriate to bring it up. I would simply say something like, 'Have you treated your puppy for fleas recently? Our bubba had some flea bites on her when we got home."

    Fleas!

Of course. How old is the puppy? It may be to young to treat.

Yep. Poor puppy and poor DD.

The puppy is not to young to be treated so no reason not to be.

    Fleas!

Def tell your sister about the fleas and make sure you treat your house.

If it was me I'd buy some flea bombs and go out for the day while they work their magic.

    Ummm, short answer is yes.

"Hey dude, your dog has fleas, might be an idea to grab yourself some frontline and powder"

    Not difficult.

Definately tell your sister, the poor pup must be so uncomfortable too.

Definitely. I would recommend Advantage, especially if the puppy is young. I have seen puppies die from severe flea infestations (it probably isn't as bad as that but it definitely isn't good for the dog). Also a dog with fleas is a dog with worms. She should worm it as well if she hasn't recently.

    If definitely say something.

Definitely. Similar thing has happened here this weekend just gone. Lachlan slept at a friends house. Came home and had 41 flea bites on him. I sent the mother a lovely facebook message. Was polite. I got "oh sorry yeah we know, but can't wash the kittens yet as they are only 3wks old. Forgot to mention that" forgetting to mention it does not help my son !!

I used a tea tree wash on my pups when they were too young for proper shampoo's. I hate fleas. Mine is flead at least once a week with shampoo, plus he had a flea collar on til a few days ago.

Definetly say something. A pup from 8 weeks is able to be treated for fleas & if its under 8 weeks, it really should still be with its mum...

Well I mentioned it to her, and she said she bathed the dogs that day, so obviously they cant have fleas, and we must have got them somewhere else
We stripped the beds and vaccumed throughout, and seem to be ok tonight. cant flea bomb without emptying and moving the fish, so hoping this has fixed it!

Does she not realise that washing alone doesn't get rid of fleas. Oh well, no more visits to that household

Oh dear. I had fleas in my house once. I vacuumed 3 or 4 times a day for a few days & they were gone. They were gone the first day, but I wasn't risking missing some. Hopefully she'll get bitten herself & realise. Before it gets worse :/
