Camping food ideas for the masses..

We have to provide dinner on Sunday night for 16 people(8 kids 8 adults) at the moment thinking lasagna that we can hear up in foil trays or microwave but any other ideas appreciated.

Pretty sure we are bbq'ing the Saturday night - I don't fancy cooking lasagna tonight particularly!!!!

My DP always does a Chilli con carne.

Eta - you can heat it up in a big pot on camp fire or in microwave. Serve with corn chips

    Other ideas....

    Chicken Caesar salad (precook chickens)
    Fish on BBQ with salad
Pre cook a roast beef or baked ham or corned beef and have cold with salad.

Spaghetti is always nice on a campfire, you can just used tinned tomato and chopped up veggies.
    Chicken & fried rice
    Hamburgers with salad

I saw on FB the other day, corn on the cob in an esky, chuck in some boiling water (to cover the corn) and wait 30 mins.

Make your own kebabs? Have vegetables and meat ready, ppl can put their own ingredients on their skewers and cook on the hot plate?

Baked potato - have the potatoes cooked, people top them with their own I ingredients (you can have have mince, sour cream, bacon, cheese, shallots etc to chose from)

The corn is a great idea PZ. When camping we actually wrap our corn in foil, and cook on the coals. You can squirt a bit of BBQ sauce and honey in some of them for a different flavor. A great side dish

I was going to suggest spag bog, we go camping at easter with most of DP's family and take it in turns to cook, we usually do spag, then the next night we do baked potatoes (in the fire or a big pot) and use up the left over sauce (with sour cream, cheese, bacon, etc...) yummO!
