benefits of amber from the a Lithuanian =)

We went to a wedding yesterday. and the girlfriend of one of the best men, was from Lithuania. She saw Spock sporting her amber necklace and asked me "why do you have that?" I started explaining it, and she went...no i mean "how do you have that?" I said, what do you mean? and she started talking about her childhood! In her homeland she lived 5mins from the Baltic Sea, the only place in the world where there is genuine amber left, she started saying her fondest childhood memories were going to the sea an collecting the amber because "it was pretty colours" and she use to collect all the different shades and colours she could get. and her mum used amber for everything! she had a stash and was her first go to home remedy for any family ailment, and they use to have huge chucks of it in every room of their house!! she was amazed we had some and knew about it. I said its really popular here and getting more and more popular.
was fasinating hearing about the benefits of it first hand, from someone who is from the Baltic Sea and grew up with it as common and the norm.

just wanted to share, and let everyone know it is fantastic stuff =)

Thats funny, I am half Latvian ( in the same area) and we have had amber jewellery all our lives and its funny how it is fashionable now. I love it! My nanna who just passed away had the best amber jewellery collection but it accidently got thrown out by my opa years ago cos they hid it in garbage bags ( from burglars) and he thought it was rubbish- never found either, so sad.

I got a massive amber chunky ring for my 40th last year from DH :-)
