DS has a mole on his cheek. It started off looking like a pimple a few years ago, then he seemed to scratch it and it turned into a good size mole. I want to get it looked at, but don't know where to go. I'm not sure what a gp will really do, unless I need to go there first for a referral somewhere else? It's just right on his cheek, and I don't want it going bad, especially as where we live is sunny everyday. I can post a photo if need be.
I have a mole on my face that often gets a pimple in it - my dermatologist says this is normal with moles (it is a skin colour mole, just slightly raised). I wanted to taken out, but he says he will make a lot more of a scar that way. Apparently until you are 30 it is normal to develop new moles. Get your dermatologist to check it out, or see if there are special mole scanning clinics near you (in Melb there is one on the cnr of Chapel St & Dandenong Rd, Windsor/Prahran). DH goes there, and they use a computer to check & compare moles over time.
