Does anyone have any suggestions for a good quality, sturdy jogging pram? We're looking to replace our knock about second pram (a target one, pain to push) with a jogger, because I'm finally fit enough to run, yay! If you own one? What do you like about it? Any cons?
We have had our Valco runabout 2 3wheeler for 9yrs now. It is still going strong although looking a little tired and weathered.
My DH runs with it and loves it, uses it most weekends. We also have the valco child seat attachment added on the front, so it copes really well with weight. It has a lock on the front wheel you can use for jogging and then take off when you are using it as a normal pram. The lock stops the front wheel rotating.
It has tyres that have tubes them in, great to run with, can be a pain if you get a puncture, we have only had one in 9yrs.
He can run pushing it with one hand, it also came with a jogging strap that you attach so you could push it forward and not lose the pram.
It was great going off road, so over grass areas and unmade road areas.
Two downsides to jogging prams is that they do not fit through a normal supermarket aisle, although they may have improved the designs these days and they take up alot of boot space, may not fit in a smaller car boot at all.
I love love love my BoB Revolution. And I'm a babywearer 95% of the time so that's saying a lot. It's light, compact, easy folding and easy to steer. I don't think there are many (?any) Aussie distributers but you might find a few around second hand. I got mine for a steal off eBay
Congrats PZ! The pram you won on ebay was the very first pram I bought and I loved it. Sadly I sold it to get a lighter one (BJ city mini) but I never liked it as much as the Elite version in the end. The city mini was lighter, but the Elite version offered so much more IMO and I always regret selling it Have fun!
