I've been going to the naturopath for about 2 months now - mainly for hormonal issues which I must admit, have been much better so far since I've been taking the herbal products she's provided.
A secondary issue I mentioned to her was wanting to take off about 10kg. I am around 82kg now which is the highest I've ever been and just not comfy or happy with myself.
She mentioned at last visit, that if the new concoction of disgusting herbs don't help me to lose a few kgs by next visit, we will look at doing the HCG diet.
Everything I had read pointed towards it being a dangerous form of weight loss, but now I don't know - a naturopath is supposed to be the healthy option, so surely she must know?
From the brief research I have done on it, its not a good diet to go on. When I want to check out a diet I have a website that I go to, it has nearly all diets I think reviewed by independent reviewers and gives a pros and cons to each one, which I think is awesome.
Then type in the HCG diet in their search function and it will bring up the review. its not that favourable.

Thanks Arimeh - I don't know, I just don't understand why a naturopath would think it were healthy - when we discussed the ridiculously low calories, she said 'but you're just not hungry' - that can't be good either - how do you get enough nutrients - I suppose it's only meant to be a short period that you do it for, but still.....
If you eat 500 calories per day, of course you will lose weight - they reckon the HCG makes the body lose the fat cells not muscle but I'm not convinced.
If 10kg is your goal, I would think that simply eating a healthy diet and upping your exercise will achieve your goal in a a mere couple of months, at a healthy steady pace and you will achieve not only a number on a scale but the immense physiological benefits of exercise and increased fitness.
LS I guess she is suggesting something other than that because the weight just seems to be stuck - it doesn't seem to want to budge - which I think is more hormonal but anyway.....
