So as the title alludes to I'm after thoughts/recommendations for double prams that are light and fairly compact when folded up, as much as a double can be
I had a steelcraft duo, which is an umbrella fold. Very compact and lightweight - and I hated it. As soon as the girls got to about 1 and 2 (so around 7kgs and 10kgs) I found the steering got really painful.
If you can fit it in your car, I'd highly recommend the baby jogger city mini. Its really lightweight, folds very flat albeit wide, and it is a fantastic pram for two bubbas - good storage, independently adjustable seats, big hoods and seriously easy to steer. I think they've also come down a bit in price since baby jogger brought out the city select.
I bought the $50 side by side umbrella stroller from target (the name of the brand escapes me) it's great, only thing is no storage underneath and you can hang bags on it but as soon as the kids get out it falls backwards, I have a strider plus 4 with second seat, it isn't side by side by it is a good reasonably priced pram, and very versitile in that you can have one or Both seats as well as capsule attachments
A friend used a Maclaren techno with her twins and loved it, when they got a bit older and she didnt need the basket underneath she switched to a babylove side by side umbrella instead. They were in the Maclaren until combined weight of probably 30kg.
I really like the city mini, have harassed a few women over the years to see how they like theirs and they always love them. It's not what I'm after atm tho coz I really just need/want something light and small. I think ill have a closer look at babylove one I probably wouldn't have if not recommended because I just had this impression that they were cheap and nasty, but if they're just cheap but work well then that's awesome.
Was talking to dh tonight and I said that I was babywearing ds2 on my back today coz I need to get new inner tubes for the pram and nowhere in town has them, and he said 'why don't you just get a stroller?' I wasn't even complaining about piggybacking my seriously heavy 20mth old while 8mths pg (it was actually much more comfortable than you may think) so I figure awesome I've got the go ahead to get a new pram without any hassle nagging or even mentioning it lol
