foundation rec for dry, uneven skin tone

I am after a make-up that would suit dry skin & to even out uneven skin tone & hide blemishes (pimples). I like to wear something daily as my skin is so blotchy and gross, and to snazz it up a little when going out. I am not a makeup person though, I know nothing about it. I have just used max-factor foundations and concealers and they are AWFUL, they dont even my skin tone or hide blemishes (despite apparently being the correct colour). By the end of the day its cakey, flakey and looks awful. So I need something that will last all day.

Any recommendations? I cant really afford something to exxy, but maybe I need to pay a bit more for something decent?

    TIA

The Bojours foundations get good reviews. If you want something natural I know a lot of people who love Nude.

If you want something easy to wear try a tinted moisturiser or a 5 in 1. I have to wear something when going out and find these light and easy to put on. I have used the Dove tinted moisturiser and found it good and am using Garnier 5 in 1 at the moment but also have the Nude 5 in 1. These have stayed on all day and are easy to remove.

Getting the right one can be a trial and error process. Go and try them in a shop and don't buy the first one you try. Put some on then go away so you can get a feel of it after a few hours. This will also show you how long it will last on you.

I have tried the powders which you build up but they didn't suit my skin and give me the all day cover I need.

I get psoriasis in small patches at times on my skin. I use Aesop moisturiser and then MAC mineral powder (but its in a cake in container) with a kabuki brush. Swear by it, but moisturiser makes the difference!

Ooh yes make sure you are moisturising, even if you get breakouts.
