DD came home from daycare with a temp of 38.5 today. She was very sleepy and not her usual self. But by the time DH got her home, she'd perked up a bit, took some nurofen and had a nap.
Her temp went up slightly after the nap but she's been pretty much fine for most of the day. Tonight it's up again so she's had more nurofen. This is pretty much how she goes, she's brilliant on nurofen or panadol then she crashes. The difference this time is she doesn't have much else wrong, no runny nose or vomiting. A bit of a husky voice though, and we've noticed a largish white mark on her tongue.
Is any of this just related to teething? Her cheeks are red and hotter than the rest of her face. Could the sore throat and mark on her tongue be related to that? The earliest we could get her to the Dr is 11 tomorrow so I thought I'd see if anyone has any ideas before then.
My kids both have had fevers my DD lasted 5 days again fine while Nutofen was in system and working then crashes. She would be playing then next min. Downhill and taking a nap. He now has a cough. My DS is on day 2 of the same thing he's has a chesty cough now too. Both their voices are husky aswell. We went to the Dr and he said its a virus. Hope your little one feels better soon
Good luck. It's exhausting when they are so unwell and doesn't seem to be a cause. Then when they start to play you think they must be all better. It was over 24 hrs until I was convinced DD was on the mend. It's contagious whatever it is. I feel like I'm coming down with something aswell. Hope it doesn't spread to you.
Well she had a pretty restless night in bed with me. At about 5 she woke up saying ow with her fingers in her mouth, asking for Daddy. So he came in and she went straight back to sleep. By the time she woke again at 6:30 her temp was down to mid-36, with no nurofen since 11 last night.
So I think she's doing ok! We'll still take her to the doctor to check the thing on her tongue, and I still suspect teeth because she says her whole mouth is sore, poor thing
