    Roughly how long???

Roughly how long after tax assessments have been processed does EOFY family tax benefit get reconciled?? We get our FTB yearly because of our income and have just both completed and had our tax go through last week, just wondering roughly how long it usually takes for C'link to get that info and work out our benefit??

Tan you have to fill out a claim form with Family Tax office (it's online) and then it can take 6 to 8 weeks. Hopefully it wont take as long because they wont have the massive amount of claims like they do at the EOFY

I thought they did it automatically? At least I didn't have to feel out any extra forms? It took a few weeks for ours, but that was last July.

ETA: HotI, if you lodge through a tax agent, you have until 15 May (sometimes later) the following year to lodge.

Yeah sorry it's for the 12 fin. Year.

I've never had to fill out a form before, it just came through but we did our tax on time and I can't remember how long it took, so maybe it's different and I need to do the form? Do you know what it's called Dan???

It depends on ato and how long it takes to get info to fao. Anywhere from 48 hours to six weeks is deemed normal

Eta. This is assuming you are current on the system and getting no fortnightly payments. You can tell that by checking your online services. It will say next payment is $0.00

If you've not been paid within four weeks of having both tax notices of assessment from the ato, call fao.

You can also check online through the family assistance income section of previous year actual income has been received.

I have a friend waiting on hers too (not self employed, just very late lodgement due to a discrepency between employers info & payment summery... by $2). Its been 4 weeks now for them, so it might be a bit busy at the moment?

    Re: Roughly how long???

Just checking again here that nothing has changed as I did my tax more than 4 weeks ago (well got my return then) and still nothing for our FTBA payments. When i logged on today there was info about completing an online form but wondering if this will just go through automatically again like it did last time - went through less than a week after I rang BG thanks!!).

    Re: Roughly how long???

It should go through automatically provided your payments are still showing up as nil rate. If not you may need to apply for lump sum claim

    Re: Roughly how long???

have a look at online services - check if it shows your family actual income in the estimates bit like i suggested last year - if it's all there and no payment coming through, you might need to call up. i've not heard of many tax returns not coming through the system this year, but there are some. have both of your notices on hand when you call up, the person can manually try and force the information through.

    Re: Roughly how long???

Just realised I posted this on the wrong thread .. Am still freaking over the amount we got. Our combined income was around 44k last year - the amount is huge, am guessing it's correct? It was ftb a and b and supplements for both plus clean energy something or other.

    Re: Roughly how long???

Las a guesstimate, you should have received between 320 and 330 a fortnight part a for two kids, so 26x330. Then whatever ftbb (will depend on how much the lower income earner received) - could be up to 140 a fortnight of youngest little person under 5, lowest earner under about 5k. Supplements of $726 per kidlet, 354 for the family for part a. Clean energy supplements (not sure of dollar values on that one sorry!). If you paid rent you could be getting up to 140 a fortnight for that as well
On top of that, if you have school ages kidlets you would have school kids bonus in there too, so up to 410 per primary ages child...

With two kids, if you are receiving full rate of ftba, ftbb and rent assistance it would be safe to say 600 a fortnight. So 600x26 is over 15.5k! Obviously that amount is dependent on lower income earner being under about 5k - if over that, you'd get less.

So yeah, I reckon a large amount going in the bank when you only earned 44k is probably pretty much bang on what it should be
