    Allergic reaction

Is it possible to have an allergic skin reaction to rosemary bush/plants?

If you are allergic to touching it should you refrain from eating it? Even if you've eaten it before?

I guess it's definitely possible to be allergic to rosemary. It would make sense to avoid eating it if you believe you have an allergy

    Allergic reaction

It's not me it's my daughter. She has had a skin reaction on and off for the last week. Can't figure out what's causing it. She rubbed rosemary on her face today when they were picking some and her face has broken out. She's eaten it heaps before though with no problem. I just don't know what's going in with her. :-(

Some plants and foods can be irritants to the skin even if you are not allergic when eating them. For example, my eczema is terrible if I get tomato juice or lemon juice on my skin, even if it was all intact before the contact, but I eat these foods all the time.

That's interesting. I didn't realize that. I'm taking her to gp tomorrow.

That sounds like a good idea. Here's another interesting thing - I even start to itch when I watch Jamie Oliver squeeze a lemon through his fingers to strain out the pips - that's got to be psychological!
