Advice needed!!!

Hi

My hubby and I are about to start ivf in the next couple of weeks. Our doctor wanted my husband to do another sperm test and it's not good. He said its not ideal and there are only occasional sperm. Well I broke down on the phone because it just feels like another blow has anyone else had a husband with really bad sperm who had ivf and it worked. Im really scared its not going to work. I really need some positive support

My DH has a really low sperm count and we went through IVF with ICSI. We froze some sperm too in case of additional deterioration. As you can see from my sig we had success.

Pop into the AC threads for some additional support and listening ears.

Thank you for your reply we are also doing icsi and are freezing sperm if u don't mind me asking why do they think it didnt work for u with the first round of ivf?

They didn't have any real reason why we were unsuccessful. Realistically the odds were more in favour of not succeeding and they were right.

My Mums theory was that we would do better when I hadn't confused my body by pumping it full of hormones as the issues were all DH. She's very proud that she was right.

For me, I think it was so important to have that month in between cycles. It gave me a chance to cry, rant at the universe and mourn the unsuccessful cycle as well as reconnect with DH. Taking the pressure off TTC and remembering what we have was do important

Loza I remember that feelin far too well....
It's devastating!! There is defintely hope Hun .. We did Icsi through flinders ivf. We had 1 miscarriage but fell pregnant within the same year and now have ds who is nearly four and from the same batch dd nearly 1. I have heaps of faith in Icsi and the science keeps getting better.
My DH went on menevit and it had excellent results for his sperm which actually made our two children...
Acupuncture is also amazing!!!! Let me know if ur interested I know an amazing practitioner in Adelaide who specialises in fertility and pregnancy (she also used to be a midwife!!)..

Loza, my DH also had a very low sperm count, probably because of a cyst which blocked the epididymis, and ICSI worked for us first cycle.

Loza, my DH had the works, sub-par motility, 96% abnormal morphology, very high DNA fragmentation, you name it. We now have beautiful 10 month old twins so please, please do not lose hope. We took several tries but we have a multitude of fertility problems and eventually, we got our miracles. Good luck to you with your upcoming cycle, hope the first time is a charm xx
