    Finding an occupational therapist?

    Help!
DS's school has recommended that we find an OT to help him with his handwriting.
I have no idea how to go about this.
Can I just ring one and make an appointment? The teacher said she would bring it up with the Principal but I have no idea how long their process takes and I would rather get the ball rolling and if he can offer better options later I will take them.
How do I find one who is good? Is there a professional body? I looked ta google and the Yellow Pages and the choice was a bit overwhelming - all those names and no information about them

    I'm near Parramatta. Any recommendations?

I'm wondering if you could look on the autism Nsw site and see their recommendation for paed ots? I found my sons ot on the autism Vic site and she is awesome - I realize your ds doesn't have asd but usually these ots do lots of work with kids.

    Thanks. That's a good idea.
I found an association and called the OT closest to us but I'm not sure that is the best way to find one

They should have a list of facshia approved providers who do a lot of work with kids under 7 yrs old

I will PM you with the details of a child therapy centre we used, for something else, but its OT's and Physios for children - looking at specifically these types of assistance.

Good stuff. I was going to recommend one in Hornsby but the one you've found is obviously more convenient.
