    PPL Question

I'm hoping I can clarify the thoughts on when I can take leave.

If I finish up 8w before my EDD do I still qualify for PPL?

You have to have worked for 10 of the 13 months prior to your baby's birth and roughly at least 1 day per week I think it works out to be. 8 weeks prior to birth you should be okay but you are probably best to clarify your eligibility directly with C'Link themselves.
Also keep in mind that there can be delays in processing so if you are relying on it as income you will have to account for the gap beforehand and after you submit the forms as well, maybe you have enough annual leave to cover all of this time!

Thank you. I thought I would be ok but wasn't quite sure. I have definitely worked 10 out of 13 months already, some weeks I was working a 65 hour week for a period of 2 months

I read online you cannot have an 8w gap (not sure if its EDD or 'birth of') the child, so I assumed I may not qualify if I finished up 8w before.

This is the bit you have to be careful of
worked for at least 330 hours in that 10 month period (just over one day a week), with no more than an eight week gap between two consecutive working days

So 8w is borderline. 7w before EDD OR birth?

If you finish 8w before edd and haven't had more than 4 weeks off in the preceding 11 months you are ok. It's based on edd )if you finish up 8 weeks prior to edd and go post dates you may be asked for evidence of edd as the "expected date of confinement" is six weeks prior to edd - which gives you up to 8 weeks if you go post dates).

Essentially if you are finishing up 8 weeks early you need to have worked ten of the 11 months before you finish up

Thanks. I'm thinking of staying at work until maybe 4w before edd so I don't get bored lol
