    Exercise whilst pregnant

    Hi there,
I have recently found out I'm about 6 weeks pregnant and have been told its unsafe to ride a bicycle when pregnant due to an artery that feeds the placenta being blocked by the pressure when you're seated on the bike. Is this correct? I really want to be able to ride my bike to take my daughter out to parks & shops and to go riding with my sons & hubby also.
    Hope someone can help

I've not read anything about that, just that you need to keep yourself hydrated and not overheat - and to keep your heart rate below 150bpm. My DH read up a LOT on exercise when I fell pregnant, and the only risk factor in relation to bike riding was the risk of falling off it.

I have read that if you were doing an exercise previously though, you are ok to keep doing it. I was doing a lot of exercise before falling pregnant but haven't been doing much at all - but thats because of pelvis issues, it hurts to walk around the house, so I'm not really that keen to do much exercise lol

I'd say that's not true, but don't quote me on it.
