    Rent assistance question

On Thursday I get the keys for our new house. I hand the keys in on my current house a week later.

I'm moving from community housing (still get RAS), to housing commission (no RAS).

So do I still get rent assistance for this place for that week they over lap? Or do I give the change over date & that's it. And what would be the change over date? The date I get the new keys, or the date I hand the old keys in?

The date you move into the new place. Whatever night you first stay at new house. You won't continue to get ra once you've changed address physically. It's based on your residence at the time

Ok, so even though I pay that full extra weeks rent, I'm not entitled to the rent assistance for it if I'm not staying there.
And my lease starts on the day I get my keys so shouldn't that be the day I start at the new address from? Even if I'm not staying there yet?

sorry, its confusing. I've never not had rent assistance & don't want to do the wrong thing & be over paid...

It goes on your primary residence. So whichever one you are staying in. Most people overlap by at least a few days...
