SAHM for the whole financial year

This is the first year since I was 17 that I haven't had group certificate to lodge. Last year was only my maternity leave group certificate, but for this year, I have received no income (I wish my employers (children) would consider paying me ) Can anyone let me know what I have to do? Do I have to notify Centrelink for our family tax benefit? Do I have to notify the tax office? I am a little confused and thought I would ask here before I started phoning places - not even sure who I'd call really Our accountant is on holidays until mid August - fabulous timing- so I can't even call him. Thanks in advance x

You will need to lodge a notice to say you don't need to lodge a tax return. Here is last year's info regarding this from the ATO. It will be slightly different this year due to changed thresholds but basically the same requirements. I'm pretty sure that the ATO will tell centrelink but could be wrong.

If you don't need to lodge a tax return you need to notify both ATO and fao. ATO is an online form. Fao can be notified via your online services after July 1

One that is going to England to watch the Ashes - obviously our accountant is a cricketing team mate of DH's
