thread: Carers Payment or Parenting Payments

    Carers Payment or Parenting Payments

    At the moment I am on maxium parenting payments, as well as receiving Family Tax A and B. However it looks like i can also qualify for Carers Payment for my DS, due to his medical issues and I cannot work due to managing his conditions, even whilst at school. I was wondering if I am best to stay on parenting payments or swap over to Carers payments instead. I currently get carers allowance , but dont know which payment would give me the most benefits.

    Apply for carers. No guarantees you'll get it but try. That's always my advice if you think you might qualify.

    just an update- i went through the process to apply for Carers payment and i have been successful
    Was wondering what benefits or things i can apply for rebates on now that i am on a carers pension compared to my parenting payments?
