    Conjunctivitis

It looks to me as if my 15mth old DS has conjunctivitis in both eyes. His eyes aren't pink at all but they are secreting a thick yellow goop and has been since Friday. Should I continue to clean his eyes by wiping with a clean tissue each wipe and use the clorsig 3x a day as the chemist said or should I take him to the doctors for antibiotics? I am making sure I am sanitizing his/everyone's hands regularly and trying to avoid my nearly 3yr old getting too close to him (hugging, kissing him etc).

You don't need to take him to a Doctor for that - you can get over the counter chlorsig eyes drops that will treat it in no time at all. Chlorsig Eye Drops/Ointment & Conjunctivitis - Ascot Vale Pharmacy

The cream is much more effective than the drops.
If you are using the cream, and have been for 2 days and there is no sign of improvement, then I would get it looked at.
Chlorsig cream has always started working within 24 hrs here.
The drops, on the other hand, were useless.

Are you BF'ing? If you are, squirt his eyes with BM at each feed, BM is full of antibodies. It really does work for conjunctivitis!

Thanks, I'll stick with the drops for another day or so... then maybe try the cream - never heard of a cream, but I will ask. No not BF unfortunately. Give me another 19wks though and all would have been good lol
